What is the MOO Egg Hunt?

MOO has organised a worldwide, online, in-product and 'Great Outdoors' Egg Hunt because we think it will be fun! We've also got lots of friends around the globe, and it's a chance for us to do something involving everyone at the same time. We'd love it if you'd like to take part too.
(And incidentally, we've got a Greeting Card sale on at the moment, so if you want to order some cards, don't get too distracted looking for clues and miss it! I want to play! How do I get started?

The way to play is by hunting for eggs! We've hidden them in three kinds of places. Some eggs are hidden;
1. online –check out the MOO blog for clues
2. in our products - check your orders carefully when you get them
3. in the 'Great Outdoors' (maybe somewhere near you) - check the blog for these clues too – and take a camera with you when you go hunting!

LOOKING for eggs online:

The MOO eggs will be hidden in different places online, and we will post clues every day, which you can find in the blog. You have 24 hours to find each egg before it goes bad (from the time the clue is posted), so you'd better be quick! The eggs will look like the one below, and remember to make a note of the 'egg code' to enter.

What do I do when I find an egg online?

All you need to do is go to www.moo.com/egghunt where you'll be asked for your name and/or MOO username, and a valid email address. (We wont spam you, we just need it so we can tell you if you've won). You'll also need to include the 'egg code' and the url where you found the egg.

And then what happens – how will I know if my entry has won anything?

The first person to find and report each online egg will win a prize, so the race is ON! But don't wory, if you found the egg and you weren't the first, we'll pick 9 other winners at random and they'll win a prize too. Better yet, everyone who finds a valid egg will be entered into the Grand Prize Draw.
We'll let you know if you're a lucky winner within 3 working days, and the first person to find each egg will be reported in the blog.

Looking for eggs in a MOO product or pack

Eggs are also being hidden in MOO products. Not every order will have one, so you'll need to hunt carefully! They're little MiniCards, with a special 'egg code' on, so keep your eyes peeled. They look like this;

What do I do when I find an egg in my MOO order?

Just head over to www.moo.com/egghunt where you'll be asked for your name and/or MOO username, and a valid email address. (We wont spam you, we just need it so we can tell you if you've won). You'll also need to include the 'egg code'.

And what happens after I enter the details of the in-pack egg I found?

Once you've entered your details you'll receive an email as confirmation of your entry. Then, within 3 days you'll receive an e-mail telling you how to claim any prize you may have won. Everyone will also be entered into the Grand Prize Draw and have a chance at winning the biggest prize of all.

Looking for eggs in the 'Great Outdoors'

Yes, we've even hidden eggs in the 'Great Outdoors'! Our crack-team of MOOsters and friends have hidden little MOO Stickers with eggs on, all over the world. The 'Great Outdoors' hunt starts on 8 March 08 and ends on 16 March 08. Check our Egg Hunt Flickr Group to find out where the eggs have been hidden – and if you go egg-hunting, make sure you take a camera and a notebook with you! The little eggs look like this:

What do I do when I find an egg in the 'Great Outdoors'?

The first thing you should do is take a close-up photo of you and the egg, so the egg is clearly visible, and note exactly where you found it.
When you get back home, or to a nearby web connection, head over to www.moo.com/egghunt. There you'll be asked for your name and/or MOO username, and a valid email address. (We wont spam you, we just need it so we can tell you if you've won). We'll also ask for a description of where you found the egg and you'll need to upload the egg photo you have taken.

And what happens after I enter the details of the 'Great Outdoors' egg I found?

The first person to find each real world egg will win a prize, so hurry! Nine other lucky winners, chosen at random from the valid entries will also win a prize, so if the train is late to take you a'hunting don't worry – you could still win. We'll let you know if you've won a prize within 3 days of the end of the 'Great Outdoors' hunt, on 16th March 2008! Your name will also be entered into the Egg Hunt Grand Prize Draw, so you have two chances of winning a prize.

I went to the exact spot where there's meant to be a hidden egg and it's not there!

It's possible that like the legendary Humpty Dumpty one of our eggs has 'had a great fall' and isn't where it was originally placed. If that is the case, don't despair. If you take a photo of you and the exact spot where the egg had been hidden, and submit your entry as usual, we'll add you to the other pool of valid entries at our discretion.

How many times can I enter? (It sounds like there's a lot of eggs!)

You can enter up to 5 times. This can be a combination of eggs found online, in your order or in the 'Great Outdoors'. You can only enter each 'egg code' once though! If you enter more than 5 times in total we won't count those entries and you might get a rap on the knuckles. MOO likes everyone to play fair.

There's 3648 prizes available in total! (That's really quite a lot.)

The winner of The Grand Prize will be chosen at random from all the valid entries into the Egg Hunt. Whether you've found an egg in a MOO product, online or in the 'Great Outdoors', you will have a chance to win. And if you enter multiple times (up to 5 times) each entry will give you another chance to win.

When will you announce the winners?

All the different winners will be notified by email – the times and types are listed below:
In MOO Products – winners will be notified within 3 days of receiving their entry to moo.com/egghunt.
Online – winners will be notified within 3 days of the egg 'going bad'.
'Great Outdoors' - winners will be told within 3 days of the close of the 'Great Outdoors' Egg Hunt, on the 16th March.
The Grand Prize – the winner will be notified and announced on 21st April 2008.

My 'egg code' doesn't work. Help!

Oh no! If you have found an egg (and a code) in a MOO product or online and you are having problems entering the competition, please do the following;
1. Make sure that you haven't already entered that 'egg code' in a different entry
2. Make sure that you haven't entered the hunt 5 times already
3. Make sure that you have entered a valid e-mail address.
